Terms of Use — LocalSkills

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LocalSkills, a neighbourhood services marketplace app operated by LocalSkills ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use LocalSkills

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under the laws of England and Wales to use LocalSkills. You're responsible for ensuring the information on your account is accurate and kept up to date.

2. What LocalSkills is

LocalSkills connects people looking for local services ("Customers") with independent individuals or businesses offering those services ("Providers"). We are a marketplace that facilitates these connections and payments between Customers and Providers — we are not a party to the service agreement between a Customer and a Provider, and we do not employ Providers.

3. Provider onboarding and listings

Providers must complete identity verification and payment onboarding (including Stripe Connect) before publishing a skill listing. We may remove or suspend a listing that doesn't meet our guidelines or that receives repeated disputes.

4. Payments and fees

Payments are processed by Stripe. When a Customer books a service, funds are held (escrow) until the service is marked complete. LocalSkills retains a platform fee of 15% of the transaction value; the remaining 85% is paid out to the Provider via Stripe Connect. Payment capture and payout timing are described in-app at the time of booking.

5. Cancellations, disputes, and refunds

If a Customer or Provider raises a dispute, payouts related to that booking may be suspended while we review it. We'll make a reasonable, good-faith decision based on the information provided by both parties, but we are not a court or ombudsman, and our decision doesn't affect either party's legal rights. 6. Your conduct

You agree not to use LocalSkills to post false or misleading listings, harass other users, circumvent our payment system to avoid fees, or use the app for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. This will permanently remove your profile, listings, and booking history, subject to any records we're legally required to retain (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).

8. Liability

LocalSkills is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of services arranged between Customers and Providers through the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
